Finding the job, and keeping it

Job seeking support is practical work: applications written, interviews rehearsed, employers approached, and someone in your corner for the first weeks on the job when most placements are won or lost.

What's involved

We do the work alongside the participant rather than for them, so the skills stay with the person after our involvement ends.

  • Resumes and applicationsWritten together, targeted to real vacancies, and structured to present capability rather than gaps.
  • Interview preparationPractice with real questions, working through the parts that cause the most anxiety, including how to talk about disability if the participant chooses to.
  • Employer engagementApproaching employers directly, explaining what the participant brings, and negotiating the adjustments that make the role workable.
  • Workplace adjustmentsPractical recommendations on tasks, rostering, environment and assistive technology, drawn from years of return-to-work practice.
  • On-the-job supportSupport through the early weeks and beyond, because the first month decides whether a placement holds.

Who it's for

Participants who know the kind of work they are looking for and need practical help getting there. People who have applied for many roles without response. Participants starting a new job who want support through the settling-in period.

If the direction is not yet clear, vocational assessment and counselling come first. Applying widely without a clear target is the most common reason job seeking stalls.

Working with employers

Our background in workers' compensation means we have spent years negotiating with employers about duties, adjustments and returning staff to work. That experience carries directly across. Employers respond differently to a conversation about role design and productivity than they do to a request for goodwill.
